Annual Community Clean Up

On May 12, 2016 community members and local agencies volunteered their time to help clean up the streets, sidewalks, and parks of Hudson to put true meaning into "Spring Cleaning." A total of 263 individuals volunteered, including 133 preschoolers, parents, children from Hudson's After School Program, volunteers from Columbia County DSS, Berkshire Farm, COARC, Kite's Nest, and many more. Youth volunteers were central to the success of the event, spending hours of their own time picking up trash, and also distributing flyers and promoting the Clean Up in the weeks before.  All volunteers were given free t-shirts and eco-friendly, reusable Promise Neighborhood water bottles. The Community Clean Up was sponsored by Hudson Community Schools and the Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties.  We thank them for the opportunity to get so many young individuals involved in doing something positive for their community.
