P.O.P.S. Fatherhood Initiative

P.O.P.S. offers support, encouragement, and fun trips for fathers and their children in the Hudson City School District. The Fatherhood Initiative provides programs to assist fathers in developing responsible and meaningful relationships with their children.

P.O.P.S. is an intergenerational that meets twice a month to discuss aiding fathers in any issues around parenting.

Attending a meeting makes the father or father figure eligible for incentives including gift cards and field trips planned by the participants. All trips are free including transportation and food.

The fathers have traveled to a Flag Football “Scrapers” game, FunPlex Fun Park, the New England Aquarium, the Basketball Hall of Fame, and the Columbia County Fair. The fathers have also assisted single mothers with “Take Your Child to School Day.”
