The Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood is a place-based, cradle to career organization located in the City of Hudson, NY modeled after the highly successful Harlem Children’s Zone. We strive to build an equitable community by providing opportunities and support to individuals and families impacted by systemic oppression and failures. In 2011, GHPN was selected as one of fifteen communities in the United States to be awarded a Promise Neighborhood Planning grant through the U.S. Department of Education and has since incorporated as a 501(c)(3) with the goal of building a seamless pipeline of opportunities and supports to the children, families and broader community in Hudson and beyond.
Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood utilizes a values-driven approach to create a pipeline of support for children and families from cradle through career. We believe that with adequate resources and relationships rooted in our core values, every individual in our community can be given the support needed to grow, learn, and thrive.
The Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood seeks to address systemic challenges and needs experienced by children and families in our community through a program model that impacts five core areas: legal system reform, direct support and resources, community and collaboration, education and professional development, and individual and systems advocacy.
Located in the heart of the City of Hudson, we have created a welcoming, warm, and family-friendly space at 369 Warren Street. Our programming extends beyond Hudson, however, with our Traveling Early Learning Program visiting over 10 sites throughout Columbia County, our Enhanced Visit Program at the Columbia County Jail serving families from the Greater Hudson Area, regular field trips for our youth programs, and much more! Take a look at our photo galleries to see our team in action and feel free to reach out if you are interested in scheduling a visit or learning more about one of our programs or initiatives.
